Foraging and Wild Food Walk (Corona Friendly)

Book your Corona Friendly Walk Below

Join a professional forager to learn the art of foraging at a location of your choice on a date that suits you (£250).

Enjoy a half days forage with a professional forager. You will explore your local wild spaces to discover the vast array of edible wild delicacies lying all around us. We will explain the culinary uses for these ingredients as well as elements of medicinal, cocktail making and preserving techniques.

Cost £250

On one of our usual walks we will come across up to 50 different wild edible species, depending on your level we can focus on more or less.

This is a perfect event for a small team, family or group of friends.

At the end of the event we will provide you with a pre-made lunch utilising wild ingredients, you can enjoy this out in the park or can take it back home to enjoy later.

The date and venue will be confirmed with you after booking has taken place.

What measures are we taking to keep you safe against Corona?

– Maximum group size 6 people
– 2m social distancing
– Hand sanitiser any time a hard surface is touched (attendees to bring their own hand sanitizer)
– No passing of plant/fungi/seaweeds – we will point them out so you can pick them for yourself whilst we talk through their culinary prowess
– No Cooking – cooking was highlighted as a risky area, instead we will be cooking a wild food inspired lunch in our professional kitchen which you can enjoy after the event. The menu will change depending on the season and your dietary requirements.

Mackerel and Wild Garlic Pate

Where will it take place?

We will finalise the location directly with you, it can be a local walk, your favourite park, woodland or coastal spot or we can advise you on the locations we’ve run our events previously.

Following the event

You will be provided with a number of things to help you to continue foraging in the future:

Totally Wild UK foraging tote bag

A follow-up email providing details of what was foraged on the day

What to bring

Ultimately bring along anything you feel necessary for a day outdoors. We will be outside for the majority of the course during rain or shine. We do advise the following items:

Suitable clothing for the predicted weather (an umbrella if it’s predicted rain)

Sturdy footwear

A drink – some wild flavours may be strong and water is always advised for a days foraging

Snacks should you feel the need for them during the foraging walk

A pad or paper should you wish to take notes

Totally Wild will provide any specific kit required for the event to run including bags and baskets, cooking kit and foodstuffs for cooking.

Suitable for: Vegetarians and Vegans – please inform us of any dietary requirements.

Children are welcome on our courses

Well behaved dogs are welcome on our courses, apart from Cornwall coastal courses where dogs aren’t allowed on some beaches we visit.
