We often find hedgerow plants on our walks here, as well as all sorts of seaweeds and coastal species such as sea beet and samphire. Remember to dress appropriately and consider bringing wellies or other shoes that can get wet due to the coastal nature of this course. There’s little to no shade at this venue in the summer, so if it looks like it will be a sunny day bring your hat along! What to Expect on the Forage and Cookery Course in Cornwall

The foraging experience will last approximately 5-6 hours, giving you ample time to learn about foraging, explore the area, and enjoy a wild food meal!

Following the foraging expedition, you can opt to participate in a communal cooking session, creating dishes that are inspired by the season and that celebrate the bounty of nature.

Past meals have included dishes like:

** Wild Garlic and Dehydrated Mushroom Fresh Rolls

** Elderflower Eton Mess

** Dandelion and Dulse Rice Noodle Salad

** Dandelion Root Crumb, Meadowsweet Cream & Birch Sap Syrup

WHAT TO BRING

Suitable clothing for the predicted weather, such as long trousers to protect against nettles and brambles.
Sturdy footwear, preferably closed-toed shoes for off-path exploration.
A drink, as some wild flavors may be strong, and it’s advisable to have water for the day.
Snacks for the foraging walk, as lunch will be served around 2/3pm.
A pad or paper if you wish to take notes.
A blanket or chair for the communal meal, as seating options may vary depending on the venue.
Your own bowl & cutlery if you wish to use yours

Mo is an enthusiastic forager with a burning passion for all things green and small. Having worked as a tea mixologist, Mo now creates their own blends of herbal teas and tinctures, brewed with ingredients they find foraging. With a background in illustration, Mo has a vast knowledge of natural materials and inks that they use in their own artwork. Nature is a constant source of solace and inspiration to them, finding joy in teaching others how to find that same comfort.

The name of the site draws from the Cornish language and the river that runs through the site. The land has been under its current ownership since 2001, and the land has been transformed in this time. We love to forage on this site. Toilet onsite Parking Children welcome (please note that one child under 12 is welcome to attend per ticketed adult, but we do not cater separately for children on our Forage and Cook events, so you be sharing your lunch!)
