Event Details

Join us and the inspiring Osmose Studios for an immersive adventure into the woods for a fascinating exploration of mushroom cultivation, we’ll look at how to grow your own mushrooms from wild beginning, before casting our own mushroom-based shapes grown from fungi! Imagine a mushroom lamp shade or candle holder made from mushrooms.

What to Expect on the Forage and Fungi Casting Masterclass in Cornwall

As we embark on a guided walk through the forest, participants will have the opportunity to collect tiny samples of mushroom bodies, carefully preserving them in test tubes for later analysis. Back at our workshop facilities, these samples will be transferred to clean agar petri plates, initiating the process of culture isolation.

At the end of the workshop, each participant will leave with their own culture of mushroom, ready to embark on their cultivation journey. For those seeking to further their experimentation, Osmose offer additional services including cloning through grain and substrate preparation, ideal for advanced practitioners looking to refine their techniques.

In addition to our wild culture workshop, there will also be a talk on material casting. You will be provided with all necessary materials including BioCast substrate and pre-defined molds. Beginners can explore our pre-fabricated molds, while advanced participants receive tailored advice on mycelium casting, ensuring a personalized experience for all.

Join us for an unforgettable journey into the world of mycology and material casting!
