Get ready for an extraordinary adventure with a Totally Wild UK professional forager and a truffle specialist, along with their expert truffle-hunting dogs. On this Truffle Forage and Cookery Course, you’ll discover the secrets of truffle foraging, learn how trained dogs uncover these prized fungi, and enjoy a multi-course meal celebrating the incredible flavours of fresh truffles.

What to Expect on the Truffle Forage and Cookery Course

This immersive experience lasts approximately 5-6 hours, giving you ample time to explore the woodland, learn about foraging, and indulge in a truffle-infused meal.

Guided by a professional forager and a truffle hunter, you’ll learn about the rules and ethics of foraging, gain confidence in identifying truffles and other wild edibles, and witness firsthand how trained dogs uncover these hidden treasures.

The foraging experience will involve a  slow-paced with frequent stops to discuss different species, including edible fungi, plants, and seasonal wild ingredients. The exact finds will vary depending on the location and time of year, but there’s always something exciting to discover.

Throughout the day, you’ll sample a variety of wild food tasters, such as syrups, chutneys, and pickles, offering a sneak peek into nature’s diverse flavours.

Following the foraging session, you’ll take part in a communal cooking experience, preparing a truffle-inspired feast using the day’s finds.

Past truffle-inspired dishes have included:

  • Wild Mushroom and Truffle Risotto
  • Truffle Butter with Freshly Baked Bread
  • Wild Garlic and Truffle Pesto Pasta
  • Elderberry Panna Cotta with Truffle Honey

After the event, you will receive an email recap detailing everything you foraged, including tips on identification, edibility, and incorporating wild ingredients into your everyday meals. The email will also include recipes from the day, so you can recreate the magic at home!
