Buckland Park Lake
Park Drive, Betchworth RH3 7FE
A part of Buckland Estate, Buckland Park Lake was formerly a sand quarry, quarried until 1990. It is unsurprising, then, that this is an ecosystem formed on a basis of sandy, acidic soils, with sandy beaches and a sandstone cliff. At this location we generally take a walk around the lake itself, learning about the plants that thrive on the pathside, near the water, and in the woodland beyond.Â
