Whinlatter Forest Park
Whinlatter Pass, Keswick CA12 5TW
In the lovely Lake District lies Whinlatter, a mountain forest with views across Keswick and lots of interesting wild species to forage. We often find raspberry, rowan, birch, sorrel, plantain, herb robert and meadowsweet on our walks here. The name Whinlatter is said to have come from a combination of old Norse and Gaelic, meaning, roughly, a gorse covered slope.
